Welcome to The Battleground

The Battleground Taproom and Mexican Kitchen specializes in traditional Mexican food — street tacos, churros, pozole, tamales, mole, empanadas, and other dishes representative of several regions of Mexico. This is not TexMex — every tortilla is handmade to order, the salsas made fresh daily. We also have a full bar serving a variety of cocktails and house margaritas and our own craft beer called Drink Your Values (DYV). DYV sales go to support organizations that are working on social, racial, and economic justice.

Reservations are recommended, but not required!

Brunch Update

We are moving Brunch from Sundays to Friday and Saturdays. We will be closed for brunch today and moving forward we will be closed on Sundays. But we will have our Brunch menu (plus a new lunch menu) starting Friday, June 17th, and Saturday, June 18th.

We did enjoy Sunday brunch, but decided this is a better schedule for our staff and team! Thank you!

Drink Your Values

Did you know that we brew our own beer? In partnership with Modern Methods Brewing Company, we’ve launched Drink Your Values (DYV) – a social, racial, and economic justice beer project available here at The Battleground and shipped via subscription all across the country.

Our flagship lineup is not only delicious locally-brewed beer, but every pint contributes to a cause. For example, Election Day IPA supports voter registration efforts here in Ohio; Si Se Puede Lager contributes to repairing our broken immigration system and keeping families together; and Cherry Street Cream Ale champions improvement efforts here on Kent’s South End.

Where to Find Us

The Battleground is located at 425 Cherry Street in Kent, Ohio. We are just a five mile drive from Tallmadge or Stow, and only eight miles from Hudson and Streetsboro. No matter which direction you’re traveling, The Battleground is easily accessible with free parking in our adjacent lot and on side streets (see our Parking page for available options).
